Role Description
The Director, Strategic Pricing & Contracting will be responsible for leading strategy development and implementation of contracts, performance analytics, and overall pricing strategy recommendations. This role is also responsible for leading the operations team covering contracting and analytics, developing contracting and pricing strategies across all customer segments, partnering with the Market Access account teams, and working cross-functionally with internal departments.
Essential to success is an outstanding internal partnership with various Commercial functions to include, but not limited to, Market Access Field Teams, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Finance. Externally, the role will oversee our vendor relationships with organizations who conduct our government price reporting function and ensure all pricing and contracting administration is compliant.
Priority will be internal pricing governance, price reporting and contract administration.
Qualifications
The Director of Strategic Pricing & Contracting will assume leadership responsibilities for the following activities:
· Establishing pricing and contracting strategies for all payer channels, gaining approval, implementing strategies, proposing corrective actions as market dynamics change, and achieving corporate goals while monitoring the potential impacts of strategies on government pricing and GTN.
· Establishing key performance indicators, building performance dashboards, analyzing performance, and recommending actions to drive contracting initiatives resulting in growth and profitability.
· Managing contracting operations and analytics.
· Partnering with the Market Access accounts teams to develop payer strategies, manage contracts and address account specific contracting opportunities and collaborate to explore expanded market opportunities.
· Working closely with VP of Market Access to monitor market conditions, changes in laws and regulations and educate internal and external personnel on the implications of any such changes.
· Collaborating with Finance, Legal, Government Pricing Vendor, Compliance, and other departments to establish consistent business rules and “playbooks” focused on appropriate reporting and compliance with all laws and regulations.
· Initiating and driving strategic projects across the payer segments: channel segmentation strategies, pull-through strategies and supporting tactics.
· Building and managing pricing and contracting SOP’s and the cross functional consensus and approval process.
· Working with and presenting recommendations to the VP, Market Access, Marketing, Account Leadership Team, and key internal stakeholders (Patient Services, Specialty Pharmacy, and commercial leadership).
· Facilitating strategy discussions in broader teams across the Market Access group.
· Serving as a key member of the Market Access Leadership team providing updates on all facets of pricing, contracting, and changes in government regulations.
· Serving as Chair of US Pricing Committee.
· Collaborating with Finance, Supply Chain, and the distribution account director to monitor channel behaviors, product expirations, potential returns and impacts on financial reporting.
- · Assist the VP, Market Access in developing recommendations for senior leadership pertaining to the overall strategies within Market Access.
