Duties
- Actively participate (Hands On), lead and supervise excavation crews to ensure timely and safe completion of projects, adhering to project plans and schematics.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed project schedules using construction management software.
- Oversee site safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, controlling resources, and ensuring efficient use of materials and equipment such as heavy machinery and tools.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to interpret project requirements accurately.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting work progress, verifying adherence to specifications, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation including contracts, change orders, daily reports, and safety records using tools like ProCore.
- Supervise subcontractors and labor teams on-site, providing clear direction and ensuring productivity while fostering a safe working environment.
- Coordinate procurement of materials for pipelines or other excavating needs while managing project schedules to meet deadlines.
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction management with a focus on excavation projects.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore and other industry-standard tools.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices for construction sites.
- Proven supervising experience leading large crews in demanding environments.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation.
- Excellent project scheduling abilities with expertise in managing timelines.
