You arrive, check the production schedule, and get CNC punching and forming equipment ready to build high‑quality sheet‑metal components. After completing on‑the‑job training, you handle setups, verify tooling, and stage materials. Throughout the shift, you monitor runs, confirm dimensions, and collaborate with teammates to keep work moving safely and on time.
What you’ll do
- Operate CNC punching and forming machines to produce parts per schedule and specification.
- Complete machine setups after training and assist others with changeovers when needed.
- Track part quality during the cycle; compare results against drawings and specifications.
- Evaluate fabrication workflows and suggest method improvements that elevate quality and throughput.
- Support cross‑functional teams to keep projects on track and moving between departments.
- Identify and communicate maintenance needs; help troubleshoot issues impacting quality, fabrication, or delivery.
- Follow Estes’ Health and Safety Program at all times; wear PPE as required by OSHA and company policy.
- Execute work in alignment with our ISO 9001 Quality System.
- Maintain dependable, punctual attendance; keep work areas clean and organized; perform other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
What you bring
- Clear verbal and written communication and a professional, team‑oriented demeanor.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and sound judgment.
- Basic computer proficiency for production tasks.
- After training, ability to read engineering drawings (materials, part specs, tolerances, notes, symbols, multi‑view).
- Knowledge of sheet‑metal types, gauges, sizes, and finishes.
- After training, skill with precision measurement tools such as digital calipers and protractors.
