We’re Hiring: Senior Probate Attorney
We are seeking an experienced Senior Probate Attorney to join our growing practice in the Chicagoland area. This is a hybrid onsite role for a seasoned Illinois probate attorney who is comfortable handling complex matters and may lead and manage other attorneys.
About the Role
This position is ideal for a senior-level attorney who enjoys both hands-on legal work and leadership. You will manage sophisticated probate and estate administration matters while helping guide associates and support staff as the practice continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of probate and estate administration, including contested matters and litigation
- Represent executors, administrators, trustees, heirs, and beneficiaries in Illinois courts
- Manage will contests, citation proceedings, guardianship matters, and accountings
- Draft and review pleadings, petitions, and court filings
- Appear in court and oversee cases through resolution
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of associate attorneys and staff (as applicable)
- Collaborate with estate planning attorneys and contribute to practice development
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Illinois law license in good standing
- 5 years of Illinois probate experience
- Strong background in complex and contested probate matters
- Prior leadership or attorney management experience preferred
- Excellent writing, advocacy, and client communication skills
