Estancia Development, LLC is a growing townhome and single-family home rental community that provides all the benefits of professionally managed multifamily property. Our goal is to offer high-quality, well-maintained homes for individuals, couples, and families who prefer to rent a full-size home in the Treasure Coast. We are part of a larger property management group with various brand-new properties in Fort Pierce—totaling 400 units under management.
Summary of Position:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our rental homes and community areas. This position plays a key role in maintaining property quality by completing service requests, performing preventative maintenance, preparing homes for new move-ins, and responding promptly to resident concerns. The Maintenance Technician will work under the Maintenance Supervisor to help support multiple brand-new communities in Fort Pierce, all within 10 minutes of each other. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical and troubleshooting skills who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance work.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
- Respond to and complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, carpentry, and appliance maintenance
- Conduct preventative maintenance on homes and equipment to reduce future issues
- Complete make-ready tasks for new move-ins, including paint touch-ups, minor repairs, filter changes, and home functionality checks
- Diagnose issues and determine when to perform repairs in-house vs. when to recommend third-party vendors
Property Upkeep & Safety:
- Maintain community common areas and ensure all spaces remain clean, safe, and functional
- Perform regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and address safety hazards
- Assist with maintaining inventory of tools, supplies, and materials
- Ensure proper use of company tools, equipment, and maintenance procedures
- Support emergency on-call duties as scheduled
Resident & Team Communication:
- Communicate professionally with residents regarding maintenance updates
- Coordinate with the Property Manager regarding larger repairs, vendor scheduling, and unit readiness
- Document completed work in property management software and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Provide recommendations on improvements or recurring maintenance concerns
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year experience in property maintenance, residential repairs, or a related field (multifamily or residential maintenance preferred)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general household repairs
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent walking, standing, and climbing of stairs within homes and around the community. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, operate tools and maintenance equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate clearly in person, by phone, and electronically. Outdoor work in varying weather conditions may be required.
