Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to lead and support our tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws with strong leadership skills to guide a high-performing tax team. This role involves hands-on tax management, strategic planning, and client communication. Key Responsibilities: Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare, review, and oversee federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and adherence to applicable tax regulations. Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax return preparation, reporting, and compliance. Manage audits and handle correspondence with tax authorities to resolve issues promptly. Tax Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement strategic tax plans to optimize tax liabilities for clients and the organization. Advise management and clients on tax implications of business decisions, financial transactions, and regulatory changes. Conduct research on complex tax matters and provide actionable guidance on new laws and regulations. Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing training to a team of tax professionals. Review team members’ work for accuracy, compliance, and quality. Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment through coaching, performance feedback, and professional development. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred). CPA or equivalent professional certification required. 5–8 years of progressive tax experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Strong knowledge of corporate tax returns, tax provisions (ASC 740), and compliance regulations. Proficiency with tax software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools (e.g., Asana). Preferred Skills & Attributes: Background in public accounting and/or corporate tax departments. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and analytical mindset.
