Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for performing product inspections and quality audits, communicating quality standards to production employees, and ensuring products meet established specifications.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, has strong attention to detail, and is confident using precision measuring and inspection equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform first-piece approval inspections following job setups and resets.
  • Inspect products according to established Control Plans.
  • Use inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, gauges, and colorimeters.
  • Conduct routine product and quality audits.
  • Identify, document, and properly contain non-conforming products.
  • Notify management and Quality Engineering of questionable products, unclear specifications, or quality concerns.
  • Follow established procedures for non-conforming material.
  • Train new team members on applicable product quality standards.
  • Provide production employees with feedback regarding the quality of their work.
  • Accurately complete required inspection and quality documentation.
  • Work closely with production employees, machine/process technicians, shift leads, and Quality Engineers.
  • Utilize basic computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to accurately use micrometers, calipers, gauges, pin gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Ability to recognize potential defects and make sound quality decisions.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Accurate color perception.
  • Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced, multi-job manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain on your feet throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift and handle boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with temperature variations.
  • Must be available for overtime when required.
