Key Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, business, and other applicable federal and state tax returns.
- Perform monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, write-up work, and account reconciliations for business clients.
- Process payroll, calculate payroll taxes, and prepare required payroll tax filings.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Communicate directly with clients to gather financial information, answer questions, and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with general accounting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Manage multiple client accounts and assignments while meeting established deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Previous hands-on experience with tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent client service.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
- CPA certification or active progress toward obtaining CPA licensure.
- Experience preparing both individual and business tax returns.
- Familiarity with UltraTax, Accounting CS, and QuickBooks.
