What are the responsibilities and job description for the Minivan Driver/ Bus Aide, Long-Term Substitute position at Essex Westford School District?
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a full-time Minivan Driver/Bus Aide Long-Term Substitute to join the EWSD Transportation team, anticipated through December 2026.
This position will primarily transport students via minivan to and from home, school, and other programming; including students who may require additional support during transportation. The position may also provide support on specialized and general education bus routes, helping maintain a safe, positive environment and supporting student behavior as needed.
Must be able to safely drive a minivan and transport students on established routes while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Must also be able to assist students with individual behavioral, mobility, and safety needs and work collaboratively with school staff.
Pay: $26.82/hour based on experience
Schedule available: Monday-Friday, Morning & Afternoon hours
Candidates with the following additional qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- A valid VT driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- One to two years of relevant driving experience is strongly preferred but not required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to speak clearly and deal courteously and efficiently with students, staff, and supervisors.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adolescents with special needs, and a desire to work with this population.
- First aid and CPR training and additional relevant health service training or experience desired but not required.
