What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Technician/Custodian position at Essex Westford School District?
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opening for a Facility Technician to join our team and help maintain the cleanliness of our Schools to foster an environment that promotes learning, health, safety, and pride. This position offers some flexibility with start and end times, with shifts beginning anytime between 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. A valid driver’s license with an accepted driving record is required, as the role involves cleaning multiple locations.
Locations include:
- Essex Elementary School - Primary location
- Transportation department - Secondary location
- EWSD ARC Center - 1hr per evening
Pay: $18.38 based on experience

Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
- Dust furniture, walls, and fixtures.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
- Maintain janitorial supplies and equipment.
- Perform a variety of general maintenance work, such as repairing/replacing ceiling tiles, replacing light bulbs, changing clocks, etc.
