The Warehouse & Inventory Control Specialist supports daily warehouse operations within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring material traceability, and supporting production through timely and accurate material transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Control & ERP Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and material transactions within the ERP system.
- Monitor inventory levels to support upcoming production assemblies and prevent shortages.
- Perform routine cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances in coordination with Production, Quality, and Purchasing.
- Analyze daily product demand and material availability to anticipate supply risks.
Production Support & Material Kitting
- Kit work orders in accordance with production schedules and engineering requirements.
- Verify part numbers, revisions, quantities, and lot traceability prior to release to production.
- Deliver materials to designated production areas in alignment with manufacturing priorities.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and lot control requirements.
Receiving & Stockroom Operations
- Receive, inspect, unpack, and properly store incoming materials and components.
- Verify documentation, certifications, and part numbers to ensure compliance with aerospace traceability requirements.
- Label and organize materials to maintain clear identification and segregation of conforming and nonconforming product.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready stockroom environment.
Shelf-Life & Compliance Management
- Monitor materials with finite shelf life and ensure proper rotation and usage.
- Notify Purchasing and Production of materials approaching expiration to prevent production disruption.
- Ensure hazardous materials are stored, labeled, and handled in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company safety policies.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation and traceability records.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or process gaps to appropriate departments in a timely manner.
- Participate in inventory improvement initiatives and stock assessments.
- Assist other departments as needed to support overall production and delivery goals.
Required Education & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory transaction processing.
- Understanding of material traceability, lot control, and regulated manufacturing practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment (training provided).
