What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part- Time Solid Waste Inspector position at Essex County Office of Public Health Management?
The Essex County Office of Public Health Management is seeking a qualified Part-Time Solid Waste Inspector to support the County Environmental Health Act (CEHA) Program. This position is responsible for conducting inspections, investigating complaints, and assisting with the enforcement of New Jersey solid waste regulations to protect public health and the environment throughout Essex County.
- Conduct field inspections involving solid waste, illegal dumping, litter, recycling compliance, and public nuisance complaints.
- Investigate environmental complaints received from residents, municipalities, and partner agencies.
- Document inspection findings and prepare reports, photographs, notices of violation, and case files.
- Assist with enforcement activities under the County Environmental Health Act (CEHA) and applicable New Jersey solid waste regulations.
- Coordinate with municipal officials, law enforcement, county departments, and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
- Utilize electronic inspection software, GIS mapping, and mobile technology for documentation and reporting.
- Participate in emergency response activities and perform other environmental health duties as assigned.
Pay: From $30,000.00 per year
