What are the responsibilities and job description for the BSA Specialist position at ESSEX BANK?
Essex Bank’s growing Deposit Operations Department is looking for a motivated individual to fill its BSA Specialist position. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be detailed oriented and possess strong customer service, organizational and analytical skills.
Qualified individuals must also be able to manage multiple tasks such as:
- Perform duties associated with complying with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), adhering to state and regulatory guidance.
- Works with BSA team to complete projects and work within specified deadlines as dictated by bank procedures, state and regulatory guidelines. This includes but is not limited to MRB (Marijuana-related Business) monthly, quarterly, and annual duties, CTR tracking and data input, Phase I and Phase II annual review and reporting, FinCEN-related duties and Monetary Instrument preparation and tracking. Assists with review of large cash aggregation reports for CTR and SAR monitoring. High risk annual comparisons, and large dollar check reviews. Accuracy and attention to deadlines are critical.
- Responds to customer service inquiries (both internal and external) in a professional and efficient manner, researches issues relating to deposit accounts and assist with special projects.
- Assist with daily departmental functions including but not limited to wires, interest calculations, and other input work and filing work, as well as reconciling various GL accounts.
- Cross train with other departmental personnel.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or 1 year related experience or an equivalent combination
- Accuracy and attention to deadlines are critical
- Willingness to learn
- Must have good organizational and math skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Data entry/PC skills
- Sound knowledge of Windows/Excel/Word required
