Esser Plumbing and Heating is looking for a 2nd Year Plumbing Apprentice who is ready to move beyond basic tasks and begin developing real service technician skills.

If you already have hands-on plumbing experience and want to grow your troubleshooting ability, take on more responsibility, and work toward your journeyman license, this is the role for you. If you have less than 2 years of plumbing experience and/or limited service exposure, this role will not be a fit.

You’ll work alongside experienced technicians while starting to take ownership of service calls and building the skills needed to become a top-level plumber.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with and begin leading portions of plumbing service calls in residential and light commercial settings
• Support diagnosis and repair of plumbing systems including:
  • Fixtures, piping, and drainage systems
  • Water heaters and sump pumps
  • Leaks, clogs, and pressure issues
• Learn to troubleshoot plumbing problems and recommend solutions
• Communicate professionally with customers on job sites
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles
• Continue building skills toward independent service work and licensure

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of plumbing apprentice experience required
• Active apprentice registration (or ability to obtain/maintain)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Willingness to learn and take direction while growing independence
• Professional attitude and customer service mindset
• Must be 18 or older
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

• Experience in service and repair work (not just new construction)
• Ability to begin diagnosing common plumbing issues independently
• Strong communication skills with customers and team members
• Desire to grow into a lead technician or journeyman role

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and varying conditions
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods
• Work indoors and outdoors in seasonal environments
