Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Product Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hair styling and hair product knowledge, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Hair Product Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality customer service and expertise while ensuring a welcoming and sanitary environment for our clients.
Duties
- Greet and assist customers with hair care product selection
- Provide personalized recommendations based on hair type and needs
- Maintain product knowledge across shampoos, conditioners, treatments, styling tools, wigs, extensions, and more
- Keep shelves fully stocked, neat, and organized
- Process transactions accurately at the register
- Help with inventory restocks and product displays (we do not tag items)
- Contribute to social media content (optional but a plus!)
- Stay up-to-date on beauty and hair trends
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools and workstations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and preferences, offering personalized recommendations for styles and products
- Upsell store products and services to enhance the client experience and meet sales.
- Utilize store software for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail transactions
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to foster a positive salon environment
Requirements
- Passion for any and everything HAIR
- Must have product knowledge of hair care items, products, textures, tools etc.
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Prior retail or beauty supply experience is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light boxes
- Self-motivated, dependable, and a team player
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Familiarity with retail math to assist in upselling products effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and colleagues professionally.
- Experience using salon software is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn is ESSENTIAL
- Proficiency in sanitation practices related to store equipment and tools.
