What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Essential In Home Services?
*Job Summary*
Hiring currently for evenings and every other weekend (flexible). Additional hours available if desired. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals in need, particularly those with mental health diagnosis, memory care needs, autism, physical disabilities, or other long-term care requirements. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities and ensuring the well-being of the individuals you are working with.
*Job responsibilities*
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's specific needs
- Assist in working with people with disabilities
- Complete orientation and ongoing trainings within expected timelines
- Comply with DHS EVV regulations regarding clocking in/out for shifts and documentation
*Requirements*
- Experience in caregiving or related fields is preferred but not required
- Experience using a hoyer lift a plus OR be willing to learn
- Good work ethic/attendance a must
- Valid driver's license and insurance with reliable transportation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to make good decisions while working with vulnerable adults
- Strong communication skills and empathy towards those in need
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be physically able to bend, twist, lift, walk
- Willingness to undergo training on care techniques and protocols
- Must pass DHS background study upon hire

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
