Job Description: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Baton Rouge, LA, 70806
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Human Resources Generalist supports all aspects of Human Resources including, but not limited to, the administration and maintenance of these key areas: payroll, benefits, 401K, employee personnel records, recruitment and screening of candidates, organizational development, and employee training and onboarding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Coordinates benefit program, 401K, and administers payroll bi-weekly and processing payroll changes.
- Maintains knowledge of current issues and laws related to employee benefits and assures organization adherence.
- Maintains all personnel records for Credit Union employees.
- Assist with recruiting, screening, interviewing, reference checking and hiring of all Credit Union employees.
- Assist with new hire orientation, prepares new hire paperwork, and processes it into HRIS system.
- Schedules and performs benefit enrollment meetings with employees.
- Assist with inputting change requests and maintaining HRIS program.
- Assist with classification programs, which include classifying and reclassifying positions and writing job descriptions.
- Issues employee badges and maintains badge program.
- Assist with updating/maintaining employee intranet human resource page.
- Assist with employee safety, training, and development programs/initiatives.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
MINIMUM ABILITY, SKILLL, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, PHR certification, Business, or related field.
- Three to five years (3-5) years of Human Resources experience in recruitment, employee relations, training and development, labor, and wage law, administering payroll and benefits functions.
