Construction Site Superintendent Job Summary
Essential Contractors, LLC is seeking a self-motivated and experienced Construction Site superintendent with a strong background in commercial construction to join our team. The right candidate will oversee the construction process of assigned site construction projects in accordance with plans and specifications to ensure each phase of the work (total project or sectors of large projects) is completed on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship as expected by Essential Contractors, LLC and the customer.
Site Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Supervise field Construction crews.
- Coordinate with clients.
- Assist Project Manager in maintaining schedule.
- Dispatching Construction crews
- Schedule site materials
- Oversee site inspections.
- Fill in as needed for construction crews.
- Liaising with engineering and project management teams to ensure that the project design is accurate before work commences.
- Ordering and scheduling the delivery of all field equipment needed for the project.
- Acting as the main point of communication between the main field and the office.
- Managing the work schedules and timecards for all field staff.
- Providing leadership to on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties.
- Investigating and resolving customer complaints.
- Ensuring that safety policies are strictly adhered to.
- Reviewing project progress to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Site Superintendent Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing construction crews
- Commercial building experience highly preferred
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Experience interacting with inspectors, subs, owner of project, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to plan job steps and ensure best working practices are used to ensure the safety of all crew members.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple subcontractors. General knowledge of electrical, HVAC, concrete and masonry are preferred.
- Ability to manage inventory with warehouse staff.
- able to stand, bend or kneel for long periods of time and lift, push and pull in excess of 75 pounds.
- Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, under industrial conditions.
- Working hours vary based on project needs (weekends and holidays, extended shifts/12-hour days)
- Travel 100%: MUST be available for out of town and overnightand must be able to work out of town while completing projects and work assignments.
- Superintendent usually work Monday Through Friday and come home on weekends or every other weekend.
