Building Location: South University Clinic Department: 3021250 PSYCHOLOGY - SU Job Description: Education Qualifications: Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Behavioral Health Psychiatrist Fargo, Bismarck, Detroit Lakes, and Park Rapids Our Fargo team is seeking a psychiatrist to join us in serving our patient populations throughout the community. This MD will be responsible for providing behavioral health services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care. Our professional, patient centered, and compassionate behavioral health providers and support staff are a source of excellent support and extensive resources. The Behavioral Health Division at Essentia Health includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and dedicated support staff. This highly respected and rapidly growing team has access to top-notch facilities that provide the ideal setting for candidates seeking a professional atmosphere for their practices. Part-time or full-time; Hours would consist between Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm Practice will consist of primarily outpatient practice with a rotating schedule providing inpatient/ED consults Pediatric experience and competence preferred, though not required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Interpersonal Requirements: Psychiatrists in Behavioral Health are expected to be competent and confident in provision of the following: Conducting health screenings and psychiatric evaluations. Prescribing, monitoring, managing, and evaluating psychopharmacological medications. Providing integrated mental health services in general health settings. Collaborating with other psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurse practitioners, and support staff. Seeking consultation and referring patients to other providers when necessary. Collaborating with other departments and specialties when appropriate in order to effectively and ethically treat patients with complex medical needs and comorbid mental health concerns. In addition, the candidate should possess: Highly developed analytical critical thinking and organizational skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to build effective working relationships and to use tact, discretion, and diplomacy when working with others. Ability to stay calm and focused in an environment of multiple demands and use of good judgment in emergency situations. Keyboard skills and basic computer skills. A Behavioral Health psychiatrist is able to utilize advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. This provider will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. This position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. In addition to the responsibilities of this physician as defined in the description, this provider is responsible for providing and supporting behavioral health services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care. Education/Licensure/Certification: MD degree with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry ABPP certification preferred, though not required Child/adolescent certification preferred, though not required Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice Compensation $335,000.
