We're hiring for A shift 5:25a-2:45p Learn more at https://phb1.com/about/careers/ JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience: Stable working history preferred. JOB DUTIES: Operate production equipment under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor and/or Shift Lead: Prepare collection container by adding process ingredients. Ensure proper placement to eliminate contamination hazards entering the raw material container. Responsible for proper placement of collection container within the hide of the animal. Manually handles the animal hide to ensure proper placement for container removal via manual handling or hydraulic line manipulator. Use transport carts to empty liquid into designated storage totes. Operate transfer pumps to move raw material liquid to downstream holding tanks. Verify that mechanical wash system is properly functioning, including ensuring proper chemical dosing, temperature, and flow rates. Follow and uphold all designated quality control requirements. Notify Proliant management team of any major safety or equipment issues in a timely manner. Responsible for timely attendance in accordance with shift schedule. Adhere to GMP standard operating procedures and comply with all basic FDA, USDA and other regulatory requirements related to the collection of raw materials. Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments and peers. Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area. Maintain general housekeeping of operations areas. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to handle materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to learn to handle edible and inedible protein materials in accordance with established sanitary procedures and practices. Ability to understand and follow established work procedures including mandated sanitary and safety guidelines. Ability to learn and safely operate various types of equipment/machinery required in job duties. Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and situations as they arise, notifying appropriate staff of problems beyond scope of normality Ability to interpret and work from oral and written instructions. Basic level of mathematical skills. Ability to document data legibly for record-keeping purposes. Ability to communicate effectively with Proliant personnel. Ability to remain calm and professional. Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions related to essential job duties. Ability to work daily, weekends and extended hours as necessary. Job duties include maintaining good housekeeping throughout the facility, using required personal protective equipment and recognizing the hazards of the job and taking precautions to assure safety to themselves and others. Responsibilities include always applying safe work practices, informing their supervisor of hazards and recommending how to eliminate them, preventing injury to themselves and to others and actively participating and cooperating in the overall safety program. BASIC MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: This job requires the mental capabilities to understand job functions, Standard Operating Procedures and safety procedures as required by job duties. WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPOSURES: There will be exposure to many different chemicals used during processing and clean up, high noise levels, moving machinery/equipment, moving throughout the building to different processing areas, some exposure to splashing liquids and dust, exposure to heat, and prolonged standing on concrete floors.
