The Nursing Director oversees all aspects of patient care within Nursing and Patient Care Services at Essentia Health, specifically across designated units or facilities. The Director has oversight of nursing professional practice and leadership within the facility and its affiliated clinical services, encompassing acute, ambulatory, and other community-specific locations. The Nursing Director collaborates with the Market Chief Nursing Officer to drive nursing growth, enhance clinical practice, optimize staffing effectiveness, and improve patient satisfaction. This role coordinates activities across defined areas, providing both clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. The Nursing Director fosters an environment of collaborative management and nurtures collegial relationships among nursing personnel and other staff.

Education Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages budgets in collaboration with the Market CNO for assigned units/facilities
- Supports nursing professional practice across all care locations within assigned areas
- Maintains communication with medical staff, administration, patients, and families to integrate services
- Implements and evaluates policies and procedures that guide patient care delivery
- Participates in organizational initiatives like Magnet Nursing Journey and Pathway to Excellence
- Conducts ongoing assessments to improve operational and nursing performance
- Promotes quality and safety programs in partnership with system quality resources
- Oversees quality metrics and clinical excellence initiatives using the Magnet Nursing Scorecard
- Establishes collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers for program evaluation
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing and Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Finance, or related field
- 5 years nursing experience with a minimum of 2 years in a Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Manager role including proven experience with organizational change, program development, and process improvement techniques
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
- Nursing license in state of employment
