Part-Time/Temporary | New Orleans, LA, US | Hourly Rate: $18 - $20/hr (based on experience)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

ESSENCE Festival of Culture is returning to New Orleans and we want you! Your role as a Production Assistant requires high energy, with flexibility and a team spirit. You'll be ESSENCE Festival takes place Thursday, June 30 - Friday, July 3, 2022.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Experience Ambassador Role & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Support in preparing all the supplies and equipment needed for event activation
• Manage equipment as needed
• Assist other crew members with their duties
• Prepare all the paperwork such as scripts for the set
• Make sure all the members have their necessary tools
• Assist Talent with their needs
• Perform safety checks for people and equipment on the set
• Deliver messages among team members
• Help with various administrative work

• Utilize customer service skills to support attendees
• Answer questions regarding activations and general programming
• Ensure supplies are replenished as needed
• Serve as show runner support to ensure activities are occurring as scheduled
• Check-in guests
• Manage stage seating
• Manage the flow of general admission traffic
• Support attendee participation in social activations
• Assist guests in pre-function areas
• Passing out written information around the Convention Center to guests
• Use discretion while transitioning talent to various locations
• Coordinate ticket sales
• Maintain Organization at the Help/Info Desk
• Implement Crowd Control and Monitoring
• Solve any logistical issues that may arise
• Reach out to on-site managers for additional support
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Move about designated spaces quickly in response to environmental changes
• Communicate effectively and professionally, with a relatable and courteous manner to all staff and attendees
• Work in collaboration with other team members
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned by management

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)

• Must have previous Production Experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have strong knowledge and passion for the ESSENCE brand
• Must have prior event, customer service or hospitality experience
• Must have strong work ethic and willingness to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment
• Must be able to attend mandatory VIRTUAL training on Monday, June 27
• Must be able to attend mandatory IN PERSON training on Wednesday, June 29
• Must be able to work all days of ESSENCE (Thursday, June 30 - Sunday, July 3)
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must maintain friendly, welcoming demeanor with co-workers and attendees
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time-often without an opportunity to sit
• Must be able to perform in a fast-paced, rigorous work schedule where the only opportunities to rest are during scheduled break times
• Must withstand frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
