What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Manager position at Essence Corp?
Essence Corp, master distributor of fine fragrances and cosmetics for the Caribbean region and Travel Retail markets of the Americas has an immediate opening for an Area Manager.
The ideal candidate should be fluent in English & Spanish (French is a plus) with an advanced level of Excel skills. Must be organized, detail oriented, strong analytical skills, self-driven, team player, and the ability to multi-task in a very fast paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Management
• Serve as day-today interface with distributors/clients to ensure service-satisfied and profitable distributor/retailer relationships
• Evaluate Account Supervisor, trainers, and BAs performance
• Maintain regular physical presence and support in market (visit countries 3-4times per year) to monitor and evaluate distributor/client and competitors
• Quarterly reporting on country/qualitative and quantitative brand results/client performance versus budgets/issues/rankings
• Approve debit and credit notes
• Attend all required duty-free industry trade shows and seminars and continue to maintain the company as duty-free trade leader
• Submit regular status that contains an analysis of business compared to forecast and budget
Strategy & Planning
• Work with Travel Retail Director, distributors/clients to develop annual plan and periodic forecasts.
•Conduct quarterly business reviews of set objectives, A&P versus budget, with each distributor/client, analyzing results, and identifying any issues.
• Regular review of distribution/space agreements, analysis of price structure, retail prices, product assortment, product and pop material stock levels.
• Schedule International trainers visits.
• Get, analyze and approve orders.
•Advise in writing all potential problems that could affect future company sales, such as currency fluctuations, suspicious orders, sell through problems, etc.
• Maximize point of sale efforts by supervising placement of company merchandising aids in selected locations within the duty-free client's selling floor area.
• Research newer business opportunities within the duty-free industry that could provide the company with additional sales and profits.
• Provide customer liaisons services between customers and credit department, operations administration and accounting.
Marketing & Promotion
• Develop, evaluate, and approve distributor/client’s marketing activities and local consumer and trade promotions.
• Present New Products and Marketing Plans to clients at least twice a year (1st and 2nd Semester).
• Support marketing and brand managers with the implementation of promotional activities, product launches, and deliver feedback on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
The ability to travel 40% of the time
2-3 years' relative experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Spanish)
High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and multi-tasking
Strong team player who works well in a collaborative environment
Proactive, driven, and quick learner
