Mold Machine Operators - All Shifts

General Description:

A machine operator is responsible for monitoring machines, inspecting parts for quality concerns, packaging and labeling product. The ultimate goal is to get today’s work done today.

Organizational Relationship:

Reports to the Production Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager

Job Requirements:

• Must be 18 years old
• Must maintain an attendance record of 98% or better.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalency
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must have the ability to accurately follow instructions and procedures
• Must have the ability to make basic quality determinations from approved standards
• Must be honest and have integrity

Essential Functions:

• Production
• Performs typical part handling operations
• May load and unload fixtures
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions
• Package acceptable product by meeting quality standards
• Document part and machine checks
• Meet daily expectations
• Work in a safe manner
• Documentation
• Follow instructions for what documentation is required
• Maintain neat and accurate records
• Measure specific areas of parts and chart data
• Respond to concerns found in part and machine checks
• Must maintain labels on proper containers
• Must maintain accurate time clock punches

• Maintain clean and safe work areas and general areas
• Follow policies set to maintain a safe work environment
• Communication
• Communicate problems/concerns of product quality with other team members verbally and through the Andon system
• Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine operations and quality of product
• Maintain trust and respect with coworkers
• Responsible for knowing the Quality Policy Statement and how his/her job supports the statement and quality objectives.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the area is below the decibel threshold that requires hearing protection.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

The employee is required to spend the majority of the day on their feet, standing and walking from one location to another. Employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Continuous mental and visual attention required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Eyesight correctable to 20/20 is required.
