About the Role
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing cleaning operations across multiple client sites, ensuring work is completed to ESS Clean standards. This is a hands-on, fast-moving role that combines leadership, quality control, and day-to-day problem solving. You’ll work closely with frontline associates, support client needs, and step in when coverage is needed.
What You'll Do
- Train and retrain associates to ensure consistent, high-quality work
- Lead and motivate teams while maintaining a respectful environment and deliver excellence in cleaning
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to standards
- Travel between accounts to support operations and evaluate associate performance
- Monitor supply levels and ensure proper organization of supply areas
- Review job and log books, address issues, and communicate ongoing concerns
- Set up new accounts, including training staff and establishing expectations
- Step in to perform cleaning duties as needed to maintain service continuity
- Promote and enforce safe work practices
- Support additional operational needs as assigned

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment preferred
- Familiarity with safety practices and procedures
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and use of cleaning equipment
- Work across a variety of environments (offices, schools, industrial, medical facilities)
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying conditions
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends

- Floor equipment (buffers, scrubbers, extractors)
