Summary:
Esposito Construction has major sitework projects underway throughout New Jersey and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee planning, execution, and delivery of heavy civil and underground utility projects. This role is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope. The ideal candidate has strong experience in utility installation, including various types and sizes of drainage and pipe systems, and can effectively bridge field operations with office coordination. Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple heavy civil and underground utility projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Develop, track, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient execution of work
- Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance and proper project execution
- Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Communicate proactively with clients, engineers, and internal stakeholders regarding progress, risks, and schedule impacts
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily/weekly reporting
Identify and resolve project issues, delays, and conflicts to keep projects on track
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing heavy civil construction or underground utility projects
- Strong knowledge of trenching, excavation, pipe installation, and sitework operations
- Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, and priorities simultaneously
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and construction schedules
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and a strong commitment to job site safety
