Our client, a leading engineering organization in the Transmission & Distribution sector, is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join their growing teams in Akron, Columbus, and St. Louis. This role is ideal for an engineer who is detail-oriented, technically strong in transmission line design, and motivated to collaborate closely with internal teams and utility clients. This position offers long-term growth and the opportunity to contribute to major utility and power delivery initiatives.Responsibilities
- Design high and extra-high voltage transmission lines (69-500kV) utilizing PLS-CADD.
- Prepare construction documentation including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
- Develop specifications, project design criteria, and engineering calculations.
- Provide field support during construction activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal project teams and external utility clients.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineering staff.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance.
- Occasional travel to client sites or project locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with successful completion of the FE Exam.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
- 3 years of transmission line design experience.
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Experience in consulting or utility industry environments preferred.
- Experience in HVDC systems is a plus.
