STAFF PROJECT CONTROLS SPECIALIST

Our global EPC Firm client is hiring a Staff Project Controls Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity in Lexington, KY.
The Staff Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes for the internal project management team, ensuring project deliverables are completed on time and within budget. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in project controls software (Oracle Primavera P6 preferred), and a deep understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage project setup and data analysis within the Enterprise Planning & Controls software (and other relevant tools). This includes creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), developing and maintaining schedules, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts.
- Oversee all aspects of project planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control for multiple EPC projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project team technical questions regarding project controls.
- Manage and approve purchase orders and subcontracts, ensuring proper coding.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department on project cost reviews, contingency planning, and external audits.
- Review and manage change orders (prime contract, purchase orders, and subcontracts).
- Develop and present comprehensive cash flow reports and various schedule reports (including critical path analysis and resource loading).
- Implement and maintain an earned value management system, including progress measurement, progress curves, and material takeoffs.
- Conduct field audits to validate reporting accuracy and processes.
- Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
- Perform schedule "what-if " scenarios and project forensic analysis (as needed).
- Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and 3 years of direct project controls experience
- or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification (ability to obtain is acceptable).
