Job Title: Plant Operations Director
Schedule: Full-Time
Compensation: $106,000–$160,000 Partial Relocation
Location: Middlebury, VT (Onsite)
A leading organization in Vermont is hiring a Director of Plant Operations to lead facilities maintenance, engineering, Biomed, and safety operations across multiple sites. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned facilities leader who knows how to keep complex healthcare environments running smoothly, safely, and in full compliance.
What You'll Do
- Lead all Plant Operations functions: building maintenance, Biomed, hazardous waste, life safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure safe, efficient operations of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, medical equipment, and utility systems.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a skilled facilities team.
- Oversee project planning, preventive maintenance, cost controls, and productivity improvements.
- Partner with leadership across the organization on facilities strategy, safety initiatives, and major capital projects.
Must-Haves
- 5 years of facilities leadership experience
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, hazardous materials, and safety management
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements (CMS, OSHA, Life Safety Codes)
- Excellent communication, team leadership, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with business strategy, cost control, and politically sensitive environments
Nice-to-Haves
- Healthcare facilities experience
- CHFM certification
- Technical or trade education with applicable licensure
