Job Title: Planner & Scheduler - Level 2
Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid or Remote * MUST LIVE WITHIN A FEW HOURS TO ATTEND MEETINGS but will WORK REMOTELY)
Job Type and Duration: 3 month contract to hire
Pay range: $35 - $45hr W2
Work Hours: 7am-4pm ET
Work Days: Mon-Fri.
Role and Scope of Position
The Planner & Scheduler, Project Controls, supports Transmission Capital, Maintenance, and Distribution projects by developing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting project schedules and associated cost data. The role works closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Controls teams to ensure accurate planning and efficient execution.
Essential Functions
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
2. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
3. Analyze schedule performance and recommend corrective actions.
4. Ensure accuracy of logic, critical paths, resource loading, and milestones.
5. Project Controls & Reporting
6. Collect, interpret, and report schedule and cost data.
7. Prepare routine and adhoc reports, dashboards, and metrics.
8. Identify schedule risks and support mitigation planning.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration
10. Coordinate with Project Managers to maintain accurate scope and resource data.
11. Partner with Controls and Contracts teams for resource alignment.
12. Facilitate communication across engineering, construction, and project controls.
13. Project Management Support
14. Apply project management methodologies to planning and execution.
15. Utilize project controls software for cost/schedule analysis.
16. Support strategies that improve performance outcomes.
17. Continuous Improvement
18. Recommend improvements to scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
19. Support enhancements to project controls processes and tools.
Technical Knowledge, Skills, Education & Certifications
Experience in project scheduling or controls, ideally in utilities or construction.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Understanding of resource planning and cost/schedule integration.
Experience and Education:
3 to 6 years of experience.
