What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Set Up/Break Down Personnel position at Esplanade Banquet & Conference Center?
We are looking for responsible Set Up/Break down personnel to setup tables and chairs, staging and maintain our facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the guests. It is important for the successful candidate to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as, being able to follow layouts and instructions for setting up the space for meetings and events. The ideal candidate must have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and dependability.
This is a part-time position and will be scheduled 12-20 hours per week, depending on event needs.
Essential Duties:
- Set up event related equipment such as tables, banquet chairs, trash cans, move furniture, install linens and chair covers.
- Set-up and dismantles a variety of structures such as stages, pipe and drape, buffets, etc.
- Removes trash from buildings and around the property, and empties and relines trash barrels.
- Keeps event trash-free; maintains and cleans restrooms and other areas for patrons.
- Prepares exhibit buildings for move-in by cleaning and stocking supplies.
- Cleans and stocks restrooms and inventories janitorial supplies.
- Adheres to all workplace and job specific safety guidelines, and uses personal protective equipment as instructed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to follow basic instructions and be willing to work weekends.
- Previous experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks required.
- Ability to work well with others is a must.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with supervisor, co-workers and patrons necessary.
- Excellent teamwork skills required.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
