What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer Intern position at Espiritu Studio?
Part-Time or Full-Time | On-Site (Salt Lake City, UT)
$21/hour
At Espiritu Studio, we design and develop innovative physical products that make a real difference—from medical devices that improve lives to consumer products and advanced engineering projects.
We’re a small, collaborative team that values curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful engineering. Interns here don’t just observe—they contribute, learn, and grow alongside experienced designers and engineers.
Role
We’re looking for a Design Engineer Intern who enjoys both creative problem-solving and detail-focused engineering work. In this role, you’ll work closely with our mechanical engineering team to create high-quality 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks, primarily supporting a U.S. Air Force structural documentation program.
You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to medical device and consumer product projects, where you’ll see how ideas move from concept to prototype to real-world use. If you’re someone who likes both technical precision and hands-on design work, this role is a great fit.
We especially encourage students and early-career engineers who are eager to learn, ask questions, and build confidence in their technical skills.
What You’ll Do
CAD & Engineering Design
If you have any of these, great—but you do not need all of them to apply:
