Seeking a Senior Controls Lead Engineer with deep Siemens PCS7 expertise
You will serve as the technical authority and mentor for our existing Siemens engineering team while leading full lifecycle automation projects across pharmaceutical, power generation, heavy chemical, food & beverage, and related process industries.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role in a growing 30-person flat organization. You will drive technical excellence, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and deliver complex
projects that combine robust process control with modern automation technologies.
What You’ll Be Working On
• Own the PCS7 platform end-to-end: Lead all PCS7-related engineering, standards
development, library management, and best practices across the company.
• Design and document control systems and electrical solutions, including control
narratives, P&IDs, IO lists, panel design (AutoCAD / EPLAN), and system architecture.
• Develop PLC/HMI software (primarily Siemens PCS7, with supporting work in Rockwell, ABB, and others) and execute FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Lead projects from concept through implementation — managing scope, schedule, budget, and client deliverables.
• Work with a broad technology stack: Siemens PCS7 / TIA Portal, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, ABB, and Copa-Data (Zenon).
• Support innovation by researching, evaluating, and implementing new automation technologies, tools, and architectures.
• Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and long-term client relationships.
• Mentor and develop the existing Siemens engineering team, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge transfer
Ideal Background & Qualifications
• Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience in automation/controls engineering, with significant recent experience in Siemens PCS7 (design, configuration, programming, and commissioning).
• Proven expertise in full project lifecycle: control system design, PLC/HMI development, instrumentation, VFDs, robotics, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial standards (ANSI, ISA, IEC, ISO 9001, NFPA, NEC).
• Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, power generation, heavy chemical, or food & beverage is highly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and project management skills able to lead technical teams, interface with clients, and drive projects to successful completion.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (P.Eng., TÜV FS, or PMP a plus).
• Willingness to travel up to 30% (primarily domestic, occasional international)
