What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Embedded Electrical Engineer position at Esperto Medical?
Esperto Medical is a medical technology startup dedicated to delivering the future of healthcare and expanding access by creating revolutionary non-invasive diagnostic technologies. We're backed by a strong set of investors who are looking to fundamentally improve clinical data and healthcare. Our first product is a novel blood pressure measurement device which builds on patented technologies developed in-house. We’ve published about our tech and are pushing it to the forefront! We bring together exceptional professionals from a wide range of industries, including alumni from SpaceX, NASA, Illumina, Caltech, and other all-star places.
We’re expanding our engineering team for some challenges ahead: we have prototypes, and we’re now pushing into production and productization!
Responsibilities
We’re building up a new hardware platform for future development, and we’d like you to take point on some of the toughest design decisions: the analog-to-digital conversion of high-bandwidth signals in a power-constrained system. In addition, we’re a small team; peer review of other designs and voicing your opinions on overall system design will be critical for our success.
While high-speed digital will be the first and foremost responsibility, we’re also looking for someone who’s flexible enough to pinch-hit on areas outside of their specialty: the ideal candidate has a wide breath of experience and isn’t afraid to teach themselves a new topic. Whether its non-contact temperature sensing, or motors and kinematics, we’ve found that there are a large variety of projects that end up comprising what we do.
Requirements
- 5 yrs experience with embedded electronics (comprising of sensors computation)
- Familiarity with high-speed (1GHz ) digital design
- Experience with taking designs from rough system design to finished product (cradle-to-grave engineering)
Ideal Traits
- Familiar with a wide range of low-speed and high-speed digital busses (from I2C to JESD204)
- Comfort with KiCad or Altium from schematic through layout
- Proficiency in ADC/DAC to FPGA interfacing
- Ability to contribute to firmware at all levels of the stack (CPLDs, FPGAs, embedded Linux device trees/drivers, etc.)
- Experience with ultrasound hardware development
Location
- Southern California – Fullerton
- Office 80% , with ability to work from home depending on stage of development
- (hardware assembly debugging works best in-office)
