We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team! You will provide healthcare services under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for new and established patients.
- Diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications by evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and care coordinators to ensure integrated treatment.
- Provide ongoing medication management and crisis intervention as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR).
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
- Participate in case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant with a specialization in Psychiatry preferred. Will train.
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the State of Florida.
- DEA registration with the ability to prescribe controlled substances.
- A minimum of 1–2 years of psychiatric practice experience is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, and a teamwork mindset.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and integrated health models is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
- Experience with mental health and substance use treatment
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., IMS, eClinicalWorks, Epic, Athena)
