Hours: 8 hrs/day; 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM |
General Job Function:
The Technology Networking Systems intern will gain hands-on experience working alongside the district’s technology team to support school technology assets' maintenance, setup, and management. Interns will assist in updating inventory records, refreshing existing technology, and deploying new devices across school sites, gaining valuable skills in IT support, networking, and system administration.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the internship, students will:
- Understand the fundamentals of IT asset management and technology inventory tracking.
- Learn how to set up, configure, and troubleshoot computers, printers, and other devices.
- Gain exposure to basic networking concepts, including Wi-Fi and hardware connectivity.
- Develop problem-solving skills in diagnosing and addressing common technical issues.
- Enhance teamwork, communication, and organizational skills in a professional setting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining and updating the district’s technology asset inventory.
- Help refresh and repurpose existing district technology, including computers and tablets.
- Support the setup and deployment of new devices, including laptops, projectors, and network hardware.
- Troubleshoot and provide basic technical support for staff and student devices.
- Organize and maintain IT storage areas, ensuring proper handling of equipment.
- Shadow experienced IT staff to learn about school district networking systems and cybersecurity practices.
- Follow district technology policies and procedures for handling sensitive information.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
- Interest in Information Technology, Networking, or Computer Science.
- Basic understanding of computers, software, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology concepts.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Standing, walking, sitting, and reaching as needed to perform duties across various district offices.
- Requires manual dexterity for operating office equipment and near and far vision for reading and interpreting data
