JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Field Technician for a leading manufacturer of electronic
fare collection equipment used by transit agencies across North America. This is a
hands-on bench role repairing fareboxes, validators, ticket vending machines, and payment
terminals returned from customers nationwide. The equipment pairs precision electronics
with rugged mechanical assemblies, so we need someone strong in both.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bench Repair: Troubleshoot returned equipment to the component and board level using
schematics, manuals, and diagnostic software.

Electromechanical Service: Repair bill and coin transports, card readers, thermal and
magnetic stripe printers, motors, solenoids, sensors, and locks.

Soldering: Rework through hole and surface mount components and repair wiring harnesses.

RMA Processing: Inspect incoming units, document faults and root cause, and log repairs
and parts in the service system.

Testing: Verify repairs against specification using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and
equipment specific fixtures.

Refurbishment: Requisition parts, calibrate units, and prepare them to ship.

Field Service: After approximately three months, travel to transit sites for
installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two or more years in electronic or electromechanical repair. Relevant backgrounds include
bench and depot repair, field service, vending or kiosk service, ATM and currency handling
equipment, industrial machine repair, and military technical experience.

Electronics troubleshooting with schematics, multimeter, and oscilloscope.

Strong mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.

Clean through hole soldering and wiring harness work.

Accurate repair and parts documentation.

High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically after training.

Able to pass a background check and drug screen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical certificate or associate degree in electronics or industrial maintenance.

Experience with cash handling equipment such as vending machines, kiosks, gaming devices,
or ATMs.

Familiarity with transit fareboxes or fare validators.

Surface mount rework experience or IPC A 610 or J STD 001 certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools up to 50 lbs. Extended bench work with close
visual focus on small components. Manual dexterity for handling small electronic
components.

WORK DETAILS

Schedule: Monday through Friday, either 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 6 AM to 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: 24.00 to 27.00 per hour, depending on experience
Travel: None for the first three months, then approximately 10 to 20 percent, flexible
Duration: Long term, ongoing position
