As a Survey Crew Chief, you will be responsible for performing survey field operations, including boundary, topographic, construction layout, ALTA/NSPS, and existing conditions surveys, utilizing conventional, robotic, and GPS equipment. This is an opportunity for an experienced SUE professional who is already coordinating projects to further their career within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.
Responsibilities:
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate field operations and supervise survey crews effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field crews on a variety of land surveying projects utilizing conventional, robotic, and GPS equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in field measurements, data collection, and documentation.
- Willingness to travel out of town for project assignments, with lodging and meal per diem provided.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding fieldwork as required.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in land surveying, preferred
- Associate’s degree in surveying/geomatics, civil engineering or related field preferred
- SIT or PLS preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, navigational programs, CADD programs and Trimble Business Center preferred
- Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers and robotic total stations considered a plus
- DOT and route survey experience considered a plus
- Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
