Position Summary:
The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for implementing various social Life Enrichment for the social, physical, and mental welfare of the residents in Memory Care.
- Assists the Life Enrichment Director in planning, organizing and implementing various Life Enrichment programs.
- Assists with the creation of programs for residents who require memory support
- Meets the residents' needs and interests, taking into account the abilities and physical limitations of each individual resident.
- Participates in the residents' plan of care and documents residents' specific interests and participation.
- Documents attendance at activities.
- Operates equipment such as VCRs, P.A. systems, projection systems, etc. in an appropriate manner. Maintains those systems in a working manner and provides preventative maintenance as appropriate.
- Works with volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations of Life Enrichment programs.
- Ability to utilize redirecting skills when interacting with residents
The starting salary for this position ranges from $19.40 to $24.44/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.
Training and Experience:
- Previous experience working with the elderly in a recreational setting preferred.
- Previous experience working with residents with Alzheimer's and other dementias greatly preferred.
Job Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Title XXII and OBRA preferred.
- Understands the aspects of leading an activity.
The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen.
