As per the Behavior Specialist II job description, the Rincon Middle School Behavior Specialist II is responsible for supporting at-risk students through intervention strategies, including monitoring Tier 1 Intervention Forms (TIFs), identifying behavioral patterns, and coordinating targeted interventions with staff. The specialist collaborates with CSAT and leads efforts by analyzing student histories, organizing meetings, and developing data-driven behavior intervention plans while also enhancing the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) within the school. Additionally, they facilitate restorative conversations that support the development of relational character and offer professional development to strengthen classroom management. The specialist oversees the Wellness Center, a supportive space designed to foster students’ social-emotional well-being, and establishes data collection systems for the space to identify trends and develop effective tier 2 or 3 intervention plans for students.
Credential Requirements:
- Any of the following: Multiple Subject, Pupil Personnel Services: School Psychology, School Social Work, or School Counseling Education Specialist Instruction Credential: Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Specialist Credential in Special Education: Learning Handicapped, Education Specialist Instruction Credential: Moderate Severe Disabilities, Specialist Credential in Special Education—Severely Handicapped.

SALARY PLACEMENT:
Based on educational units and years of full-time teaching experience. Maximum placement is Class IV, Step 11 (with 10 years of teaching experience).

WORK CALENDAR:
The calendar is 185 work days. All new employees are on an 11-month pay schedule. Returning employees are on a 12-month pay schedule.
Salary : $58,677 - $95,341
