Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic equipment to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on powertrain components, transmissions, diesel engines, and other critical systems with precision and efficiency.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machinery to execute repairs and maintenance tasks effectively.
- Service vehicles by replacing parts, performing oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and ensuring optimal vehicle performance.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical systems and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating procedures, and communicate repair findings clearly to customers.
- Assist in vehicle inspections for dealership or fleet maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- Proven dealership or service shop experience as an Automotive Technician or Service Technician.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including powertrain, electrical systems, transmissions, and diesel engines.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools and ability to read schematics effectively.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, wheel alignment equipment, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus; experience with auto estimating software is desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive repair tools.
