Part-Time Opening: Game Master

In your role as Game Master you are responsible for operating the games and enhancing the guest experience by providing excellent customer service!

Responsibilities:

Greet guests in the lobby and walk through their check-in. This includes playing the rules video, doing a lock demonstration, and answering any questions the teams may have about the experience.

Game Masters will be required to use computers, payment processing programs, reservation software as well as operate a physical cash register in order to take payment and complete the check-in process. The ideal candidate will be able to do simple math with ease.

You will lead guests to the game room and give verbal instructions to each team. Throughout their experience you will be responsible for watching the game, provide hints, and answer questions the guests may have. Game Masters must be comfortable using technology including computers, tablets, and cameras.

After the team completes the game, or their time runs out, you will meet the group at the door to celebrate accomplishments or go through what they might have missed. You will be responsible for taking a picture for each team before saying goodbye and resetting the game.

Guest pictures get posted on our social media pages. You will be responsible for coming up with fun captions and content for our pages including our stories. The ideal candidate will be excited at the prospect of using their creativity for marketing and social media.

During game reset you will put all items and props back to their correct locations. You will need to memorize A LOT of information, so the ideal candidate is likely very organized and meticulous. Light cleaning or vacuuming will be required throughout the day.

Additional responsibilities include helping to update props, clues, or other tasks as needed.

Work Environment:

· You will be working with a small team in an office style setting

· Employees have their own personal cubby and access to a fridge/freezer and microwave

· We keep snacks and drinks stocked for you to enjoy during your shift

· There may be opening shifts and closing shifts (never before 10am or after 11pm)

· There may be shifts you work alone or with several other team members

Job Requirements:

· Good grasp of technology with basic computer skills, email, etc

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Provide enthusiastic service for all guests

· Monitor guests’ activity and engage via computer screen up to 1 hour without distraction

· Must be able to understand and verbally articulate the games flow to provide answers to guest questions about their game

· Clearly explain the rules and monitor teams so they don't break things or get hurt

· Use interpersonal communication skills to read/react to the varying personalities that play at Escape Marquette

· Work well with youth (ages 7 )

· Must be 18

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
