Job Summary
Are you an organized administrative professional with a passion for supporting student nutrition? Escambia County School District is seeking an Administrative Specialist for School Food Services. In this role, you will coordinate and oversee the essential administrative documents, personnel services, and operational tasks required to run our Federal Child Nutrition Programs. You will serve as a vital liaison between school cafeterias, district administrative offices, and regulatory agencies, ensuring our food services team runs efficiently and complies with all state and federal guidelines.
What You’ll Do (Essential Duties)
- Program & Compliance Management: Oversee the annual Child Nutrition Program application (including waivers and USDA correspondence); stay fully informed on updates regarding the National School Lunch, School Breakfast, and After School Care Snack Programs.
- Personnel : Coordinate trainings and track professional development hours for School Food Services employees.
- Department Administration: Maintain organized departmental record-keeping and filing systems; compose official correspondence and handle inquiries from staff and the public with excellent customer service.
- Research & Reporting: Conduct special research studies, compile data, evaluate alternatives, and prepare written reports or recommendations for district leadership.
What You Bring (Minimum Requirements)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (Degree in a Food Service, Technology or Business field preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful, progressively responsible administrative support experience.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in computer applications, specifically Microsoft and the Google Suite.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of USDA federal and state regulations surrounding child nutrition programs preferred.

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
