Community Health Northwest Florida (CHNWF) is accepting internal applications for the Healthcare Navigator position. This role supports the Health Insurance Navigator Program by assisting uninsured individuals and families with understanding insurance options and completing enrollment through the Federal Marketplace and Florida Medicaid.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct outreach to promote the Healthcare Navigator Program.
Assist uninsured patients with insurance applications and enrollment.
Explain eligibility requirements, application processes, and timelines.
Enroll qualifying individuals in Federal Marketplace plans and Florida Medicaid.
Assist patients with primary care provider changes and insurance verification.
Explain and process Sliding Fee Discount Program applications.
Conduct patient interviews and process third-party referrals.
Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and productivity metrics.
Provide administrative support, including filing and scanning.
Support Patient Service Advisors as needed.
Adhere to CHNWF policies, compliance standards, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Completion of Healthcare Navigator and Certified Assister training (or ability to complete).
Experience in healthcare, business, or social services.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible availability, including weekends.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a clinic, hospital, or medical office setting.
Medical billing experience or billing certification.
Associate’s degree in public health, health education, business, or social services.
