Position Overview
Cuyahoga Heights Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapy Practitioner to join our student services team for the 20262027 school year. This individual will provide school-based occupational therapy services to students with identified needs and will collaborate closely with additional occupational therapy practitioners and other related service providers at the district.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively and maintain consistent communication with additional occupational therapy practitioners as well as school staff and families.
- Provide individualized occupational therapy services to an assigned caseload in accordance with established treatment plans.
- Accurately document and monitor student progress and therapy service minutes to ensure compliance with district and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in alignment with school timelines, procedures, and reporting expectations.
- Provide education, guidance, and training to families to support carryover of each student's individualized therapy plan.
- Participate in and support Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes, including data collection, intervention implementation, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Attend IEP and ETR meetings as needed and communicate the occupational therapy plan of care recommendations clearly to families and team members.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and student-centered environment through ongoing communication with school personnel and families. Qualifications
- Current Ohio Occupational Therapy Assistant (preferred) or Occupational Therapist License.
- A Pupil Services License and/or a temporary pupil services license from ODEW
- Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, the IEP process, and school-based service delivery models.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a supervising Occupational Therapist (OTR).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Compensation & Schedule
Competitive daily rate commensurate with experience.
Full-time, 2026-2027 school year.
