Job Title: Summer Part Time: Civics Academy Support Staff
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt, Temporary Employment
Pay Grade: $25.00 hourly
Work Days: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.
Reports To: Coordinator of Instructional Services
End Date: August 14, 2026
Primary Purpose
Assisting with various tasks and projects to ensure a positive customer experience and provide clerical/ office support for Civics Academies.

Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Team-oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff.
- Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload.
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications may be appropriate
- Ability to travel to alternate locations to support in the delivery of Texas Civics Academies. Responsibilities include:
- Materials distribution and collection
- LMS and basic technology support
- Coordination of material delivery to and from alternate locations

- Assist Instructional Content specialists with various tasks as directed by supervisors or team leaders
- Help maintain a general clean and organized environment
- Interact with internal and external clients with courtesy and professionalism.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain a positive attitude while working cooperatively with other members of the staff to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department and the service center.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Note: This position requires daily travel across ESC Region 11.

Equipment/Specialized Software Used
Computers, projection devices, control panels in meeting rooms, printers, productivity software, software specific to the job assignment, network resources, internet resources, and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors)
Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required, work with frequent interruptions, and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.
Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer. Frequent region and state-wide travel.
Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations.
Evaluation
Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance, need, and funding.
