Position Title: Outreach Specialist
Location: ESC of Eastern Ohio (Hybrid)

Compensation: Hourly, insurance coverage, and fringe benefits as per the current Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Government (MVRCOG) Board Policy.
Education/Degree: High school diploma or equivalent.
Reports to: Assistant Director of Infant/Toddler Programs
Supervises: None
Job Goal: Executes a regional outreach plan for multiple counties for infant and toddler programs. Implements activities to recruit, engage, and retain program participants, either directly or through referral sources. Conducts presentations to target audiences including physicians, medical professionals, legislators, parents, and community agencies to spread awareness, generate referrals, and cultivate relationships. Provide support to county outreach staff. Provide promotional materials to individual county staff. Will travel daily throughout the assigned region of six Ohio counties to perform the above duties. This position will be employed by the Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Government.

QUALIFICATIONS/RESPONSIBILITES
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in social services, sociology, public communications or other relevant field of study preferred but not required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and communications skills.
- Ability to promote positive internal and external customer relations.
- Conducts outreach to referral sources throughout the assigned astern region (e.g. physicians, hospitals, child care centers, etc.).
- Attends outreach events and collects data for outreach events, presentations, and meetings.
- Networks with professionals throughout the region and presents information about the Help Me Grow system of support.
- Ensures the availability of marketing materials through assembly, ordering and drop off, mail, and/or email of materials.
- Participates in the set-up, registration, time-keeping, and clean-up of events.
- Willingness/ability to work as a team member.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with good driving record with daily access to a private insured vehicle during work hours. Will travel in the assigned region for individual meetings and outreach activities. Mileage is reimbursed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to attend community events, including some night and weekend hours for events.
- Participates in the set-up, registration, time-keeping, and clean-up of events.
- Attend outreach events that positively promote programs under the Help Me Grow branded name.
- Collaborates with regional outreach coordinators to learn, share, and implement any effective strategies used to connect with families and referral sources.
- Attends committee meetings as assigned.
- Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
