Position Overview
As an ES3 Yard Jockey, you are expected to operate consistently in a safe and professional manner. To be successful you must meet the challenges of a congested, mixed traffic, 350 acre campus. This requires an ability to manage & minimize distractions.
Job Description
Operate jockey wagon between Yard and Dock areas.
Move a minimum of 7 trailers per hour.
On-board computer and radio communications.
Direct Live and Drop Carriers to on-campus destinations.
Help manage Yard and various contingencies.
Manage Reefer temperatures and fuel levels.
Weigh trailers on an elevated tri-axle scale.
Fuel trucks and fill DEF tanks every shift.
Perform thorough daily inspections of jockey wagon.
Skills Soft skills are a priority: on-time attendance, self-motivated productivity & accountability, dedicated team player, consistent professional conduct, high degree of safety awareness.Physical requirements: all movements used in driving and backing trailers in limited space, walking 3-5 miles/shift, climbing, bending, opening trailers, reaching overhead, navigation, radio communication
