Retaining Wall Construction - Onsite Position

Location: Clifton, TX -Onsite - (70 miles SW of Fort Worth)

Position Overview

Experienced safety professional responsible for onsite health and safety operations at a major retaining wall construction project. Conducts daily safety inspections, investigations, training, and ensures OSHA compliance on this active construction site.

Essential Responsibilities

· Conduct daily safety inspections and observations on retaining wall construction site

· Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis

· Deliver site-specific safety training and toolbox talks

· Identify and document safety hazards specific to excavation, heavy equipment, and earth retention work

· Track safety issues and generate reports using safety management software

· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, particularly excavation and construction standards

· Coordinate emergency response efforts as needed

· Support Safety Director with audits, training, and safety initiatives

· Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices

· Participate in weekly safety meetings

· Immediately report all incidents to Safety Director

Required QualificationsExperience:

· 5 years construction safety experience required

· Heavy civil, excavation, or retaining wall construction experience strongly preferred

· Experience with large construction projects

· High School Diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred

Certifications (Required):

· Valid Texas Driver License

· OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety

· First Aid/CPR

Certifications (Strongly Preferred):

· OSHA 510

· Competent Person for Excavation/Trenching

· OSHA CHST or CSP

Skills:

· Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety software

· Excellent communication and training skills

· Ability to work independently

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

· Work in active construction environment with excavations and heavy equipment

· Navigate uneven terrain and work at heights

· Lift up to 50 lbs

· Stand and walk for extended periods

· Work in variable weather conditions

· Wear required PPE at all times

Schedule & Location

Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional weekends and off-hours as needed

Location: Onsite at construction project in Clifton, TX

Duration: Full-time permanent position starting with Clifton project. Career advancement potential includes serving as lead safety professional on major projects with high-level client engagement.
