Job Title: HCL Volt MX Platform Consultant
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: Long-term Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document current application environments (dev/test/prod), including configurations, integrations, and dependencies.
- Review deployment processes and provide recommendations for improving efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
- Review existing application code to identify defects, risks, technical debt, or areas requiring optimization and update existing code with enhancements.
- Assist with troubleshooting environment related issues, deployment failures, or configuration inconsistencies.
- Conduct structured knowledge transfer sessions with internal teams to ensure long term maintainability.
- Provide recommendations and best practices for code stability, environment management, and deployment automation.
- Collaborate with internal IT staff, stakeholders, and cross functional teams to clarify requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare documentation outlining findings, recommended remediation steps, and improvement plans.
Mandatory skills:
- Strong hands on experience with HCL technologies (e.g., VOLT/IRIS, Foundry).
- Experience configuring environments and evaluating application deployment pipelines.
- Solid understanding of application architecture, integration points, and system dependencies.
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting application code for quality, structure, and stability.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly in explaining technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
Certifications or Desired skills if any:
- Experience with CI/CD tools or automated deployment frameworks.
- Prior consulting or contractor experience supporting environment modernization or technical remediation initiatives.
- Familiarity with best practices for application lifecycle management in enterprise environments.
